Meet New Friends
The true personality of Sunny View is best represented by the close friendships among our residents and staff. Some of the bonds run decades deep. Mary Scott and Jane Arthur have been neighborhood friends for more than 30 years. When Mary moved to Sunny View, it was only a few months later that Jane joined her, living in a house directly across the rose garden from Mary's. Mary and Jane quilt together, attend church together and regularly open their homes for social gatherings. And every morning, Jane simply watches for Mary's curtains to open before calling her friend to say good morning before they begin their day.
Marylou Reynolds and Susan Raye have built a friendship founded on a special kind of trust. Marylou is a resident in our Special Care/Alzheimer's unit where Susan is the activity coordinator. Their relationship was born of warmth and honesty, sharing a common love of family and baseball. They often sit on the patio and talk about life. When Susan revealed that she has been a Los Angeles Dodgers fan since she was 11 years old, Marylou, an avid San Francisco Giants fan, replied with a smile... "And you seemed like such a nice girl!" They both burst into laughter as they often do.
