Our Artistic Side

We all have creative impulses to express ourselves - the desire to write, paint, sew, build or cook. It's this self-expression that makes life uniquely yours. At Sunny View resident artists dabble in a variety of media and love to share their work. Residents Ruth Wall, Marion Ruud and Janet Moller all prefer acrylic and are always learning new techniques from each other. But Ray Bunt and Al Storch prefer sawdust over paint. Both avid woodworkers, Ray and Al love to spend time in Sunny View's fully equipped woodshop. Ray even donated several professional-caliber power tools to the shop.

At our Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad, we not only exhibit the artwork of our residents, we also celebrate those remarkable artists who've created them. The Front Porch Gallery also partners with community arts organizations to create an understanding of aging through art.
